IFFI 2019 Opening Ceremony: Amitabh Bachchan And Rajinikanth, The Two Legends Kickstart The Festival
Two legends of the cinematic world megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth inaugurated the prestigious film festival named International Film Festival of India in Goa, some time ago. The legendary duo kick-started the festival by lighting the lamp, making it a memorable evening as the festival steps in its 50th year in 2019. As we write about this inaugural ceremony, the official Twitter handle of this festival, has been updating the social media users about the live happenings straight from the event. 

The inaugural ceremony also saw Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Shri Prakash Javadekar, MoS for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Babul Supriyo, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Amit Khare.  Followed by which Big B was felicitated by none other than Rajinikanth himself. The South Superstar also delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and dedicated his Icon of Golden Jubilee of IFFI recognition to all his directors, producers and crew, he has worked with so far.


The inaugural ceremony had ace singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan performing along with Louis Banks, kick-starting the evening on an entertaining note.


The film festival will also showcase some of the iconic films of Amitabh Bachchan with Sholay being of one of them. This year, the festival is supposed to feature 26 feature films, 15 non-feature films and 200 films for the audiences.


A few days ago Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to inaugurate the recently held Kolkata Film Festival, but gave it a miss, due to unexpected heavy rains, at the last minute.
